What are the primary responsibilities of a
Site Steward?

A Site Steward's primary role is to monitor archaeological and paleontologist sites and report any vandalism to the land manager.

As a Site Steward, one documents/photographs sites not previously recorded as well as documents sites in danger of vandalism, destruction or deterioration. In some cases, a Site Steward may assist in surveys, mapping and rock art recording. There are other activities that may, on occasion, be part of a Site Steward's  assignment such as collecting oral histories, presenting talks within communities regarding the preservation of heritage resources and the  actual Nevada Site Steward Program.
